We were tasked with planning and executing the grand opening of the Thinkery, an evolution from the Austin Children’s Museum whose mission is to create innovative learning experiences that equip and inspire the next generation of creative problem solvers.
For the Thinkery, we were tasked with planning and executing a months-long PR campaign, assisting in the development of their grassroots membership drive and planning a grand opening that would garner national attention. The goal was to re-introduce the Austin Children’s Museum as a space dedicated to innovative learning experiences that equip and inspire the next generation of creative problem-solvers.
We worked with Thinkery staff to gain knowledge of everything the museum offered; we then crafted and executed all of their earned media - press releases, media alerts. editorial pitches and reporter follow-ups. The key was to differentiate what makes the Thinkery unique and special compared to other children’s museums across the country. After researching relevant outlets, we built a robust media list and pitched both national and local media. The Thinkery was then featured in articles on USA Today, Statesman, Do512, KXAN, KVUE, CBS Austin and other local print, digital and television broadcasts.
